Design & Make with AI: CCTech Hackathon for Collaborative Culture
By
Suraj Kedari, Nikita Dhumal
CCTech’s strategic priority is building and nurturing a shared culture of innovation. Reinforcing this belief, we successfully hosted the Design & Make with AI Hackathon. It is an internal initiative aimed at empowering teams to experiment, build, and apply AI-driven solutions to real-world challenges.
The hackathon served as a platform for employees to transform ideas into working prototypes and explore emerging AI capabilities. It encouraged engineers to think in terms of platforms, APIs, data models, and production constraints, rather than isolated demos. This also enhances collaboration across domains, showing our commitment to engineering excellence.
Addressing Real-World Engineering Challenges
The hackathon was designed to address key challenges in engineering workflows. Teams built executable PoCs using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Forma, Fusion 360, Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InfoWorks, and FlexSim. This led to improved efficiency, accuracy, and innovation across real-world business use cases.
Teams tackled problems across a broad spectrum, including :
  • Autodesk platform–based workflows
  • Manufacturing and industrial engineering
  • AEC and ACC ecosystems
  • Water systems and public health
  • HVAC and building design
  • Non-technical AI applications such as HRM systems and process automation
This diversity of use cases reflected the breadth of CCTech’s domain expertise and the versatility of AI as an enabler. A total of 15 teams successfully submitted ideas and PoCs, showcasing strong enthusiasm and hands-on execution.
From bold ideas to working AI solutions
What happens when curiosity meets code, and ideas are pushed beyond slides?
The hackathon answered that question by challenging teams to move fast, experiment boldly, and actually build. Instead of discussing possibilities, participants rolled up their sleeves to create AI-driven solutions.
This delivered strong outcomes, including:
  • Practical application of AI across manufacturing, ACC, AEC, water systems, and HVAC
  • Enhanced collaboration and cross-functional problem-solving
  • Development of high-impact solutions using cutting-edge technologies
Award-Winning Smart Solutions
The hackathon concluded with outstanding performances from multiple teams. Team Limitless secured the winner position, followed by Team Vector Space as runner-up, and Team GreenTea as second runner-up. In fourth place, Team Toolsets created an automated model compliance and QA framework using ACC, leveraging AI to interpret rules for faster quality checks. Special recognitions were awarded to Team Ctrl + Alt + Defeat for best idea and presentation, and Team Xstack for best use of AI.
Team Limitless impressed the judges with an advanced AI-driven solution that converts 2D drawings and images into accurate 3D models using a multi-agent architecture. Its strong technical depth and practical applicability to automate 3D design workflows made it a deserving winner.
Design & Make with AI: CCTech's Hackathon for Collaborative Culture
The other presented solutions collectively demonstrated how AI can transform AEC and Manufacturing workflows through practical and production-oriented innovation. Teams built AI-driven capabilities spanning intelligent HVAC design automation and automated model compliance checking in ACC. They also developed AI-assisted traffic and infrastructure planning solutions in Civil 3D, along with simulation-led optimization for manufacturing and logistics.
Together, these solutions highlighted CCTech’s strong engineering depth and its ability to apply AI meaningfully across real-world AEC and Manufacturing challenges.
The Reflection
From ideation to execution, each team drove meaningful breakthroughs. Their reflections on the overall hackathon experience include:
“Working cross-functionally helped us think beyond our usual project boundaries. Such teamwork was very valuable for us.”
- Team Limitless
“This hackathon was a great learning experience, especially in understanding practical implementation of Autodesk Technologies and AI in the real project workflows.”
- Team GreenTea
This hackathon reflected CCTech’s ongoing efforts to nurture innovation, encourage employees to experiment, collaborate, and push boundaries using cutting-edge technologies. The enthusiasm, creativity, and technical excellence demonstrated our position as a forward-thinking and innovation-driven organization.
