Autodesk DevCon 2026: Explore how AI is Transforming Design and Make

Over 1,200 innovators convened at Autodesk DevCon 2026 in Amsterdam. It is one of the most consequential developer conferences in Design & Make. The event marked a significant inflection point in the evolution of the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) and manufacturing industries. CCTech attended the event, and the most notable message that ran through every session with Autodesk leadership was:
“Engineering is transitioning from standalone software tools to integrated, intelligent, and autonomous design systems with Artificial Intelligence (AI)”.
The Conference Atmosphere
Autodesk DevCon 2026 reflected a strong sense of momentum, mainly throwing the spotlight on AI-driven innovation across the AEC industries.
From the very beginning, the event focused on hands-on engagement and knowledge exchange. Pre-event workshops, dynamo hackathons, live coding sessions, and demonstrations have provided a deep learning experience, encouraging participants to participate in the hackathon and engage with practical AI implementations. Meaningful conversations were facilitated among technology providers, enterprise customers, and developers working with the Design & Make ecosystem.
A Shift from Tools → Platforms → Intelligent Execution
The energy of DevCon 2026 was unmatched. The model context protocol (MCP) workshop was sold out, with participants eager to deep-dive into building MCP servers, connecting APIs to large language models (LLMs), and accelerating AI agent development.
The themes that were laid out during the APS keynote were meant to steer the innovator’s thinking towards the next era of Design and Make. Autodesk’s senior platform leaders, including Raji Arasu (EVP & CTO), Ben Cochran (VP Developer Enablement), and Shelly Mujtaba (VP Product Data) shared their thoughts and emerging engineering trends in AI:

To support this transition, CCTech is increasingly investing in capabilities such as Power BI integrations with Autodesk Forma, cross-region data migration for Autodesk Forma, and scalable solutions built on APS. Explore our service:
Why Data Is the Real Strategy
A common theme that surfaced Autodesk DevCon 2026 and is also validated by CCTech is -
“Unstructured and disconnected AI data does not scale beyond demos”
Autodesk's push toward data-native workflows, cross-product continuity, and query-based engineering systems is the foundation. Shelly Mujtaba announced the GA release of Navisworks DX Connector at Autodesk DevCon 2026. The announcement of Naviswork’s performance, smashing the records for high-fidelity data exchange, highlights the capability of APS.

CCTech is proud to be Autodesk’s development partner in this journey. This connector precisely reflects that interoperability is no longer a constraint to work around. It is a prerequisite for intelligence to enable AI in design systems. Connected intelligence is only possible with connected data.
CCTech's Role in Design & Make Ecosystem
CCTech operates at a rare intersection of geometry, physics, simulation, and AI. It is a combination that is becoming increasingly critical as the industry moves toward autonomous engineering systems.
Our direction aligns directly with what Autodesk DevCon 2026 made clear:
  • Build agent-executable workflows on top of APS with AI
  • Contribute to the interoperability layer, enabling cross-platform intelligence through Autodesk Forma and data exchange systems
  • Position simulation and computational geometry as automated capabilities
Conclusion
DevCon 2026 did not introduce a trend. It clarified a shift already underway. And the horizon extends even further.
The question for every organization in this ecosystem is-
Should we build on top of this execution layer and help shape it — or remain a consumer of it?
Autodesk is building the platform, and organizations like CCTech have already answered the above question by leveraging APS, Autodesk Forma, and Agentic AI to define the future of Design & Make.
